The 4-year-old Sadamu Patek, the fourth choice, won in 1 minute, 32.9 seconds over 1,600 meters for his first G1 title. Take ended a two-year Grade 1 drought as the superstar veteran won his first title at the race, to only need to win December’s Asahihai Futurity Stakes to complete a career sweep of every G1 race in Japan.
